Greater Dublin Area (GDA) for Leaving Cert Geography

Tip: I found it extremely beneficial to know this chapter inside out and back to front. There is more to write about the GDA in comparison with the West of Ireland, and the questions are often easier to get big marks in. There’s a good bit in this chapter, but much of it is common sense or things you’d hear about on the news. Be specific; learn exact figures regarding population, average temperatures etc. This is a critical piece of advice across the entire geography course, but particularly in the Regional section.

We will cover English Paper 1 and Paper 2 for Higher Level.

We will cover Paper 1 entirely. For Paper 2 we will include Hamlet, The Great Gatsby, Comparative, all the poets (prioritising the key suspects for June), how to approach Unseen Poetry and answer all your questions. Have a look at our notes contents to understand our approach.

Who?

Driving:

Dun Laoghaire is located about 4 miles from the southern side of the motorway. The closest National road is the N11. The Dun Laoghaire exists are: Exit 14 - Southbound route Exit 17 - Northbound route

Bus:

The following buses serve Dún Laoghaire: 7, 7a, 8, 45a, 46a, 59, 63, 75, 111 

The buses that stop closest to IADT are 46a and 75.

Dart:

The Dún Laoghaire Dart stop is approximately 30 minutes' walk away from IADT.
